Arbitrage betting uses differences in odds between sportsbooks: if every bet is placed at the quoted odds, the result is the same whichever outcome happens. Odds move and bets can be limited or voided, so it is never certain.
How it works: Place bets on all possible outcomes across different books so that your total payout exceeds your total stake.
For arbitrage to exist, the total implied probability must be less than 100%. This means the market odds are collectively undervaluing the true probabilities.
Example: If three outcomes have implied probabilities of 35%, 30%, and 30% (total 95%), there's a 5% arbitrage opportunity.
